Nestling in 1.5 acres of mature gardens in the secluded village of Llansadwrn, with stunning panoramic views of The Brecon Beacons and the Carmarthenshire Fans, our Grade II listed farmhouse consisting of the main house and attached cottage dates back to the latter part of the 18th century. Within Llansadwrn you will find the medieval church of Saint Sadwrn, on which site there has been a church since the 6th Century. With it’s strong sense of community, you will receive a warm welcome in the village, nowhere more so than in “The Sexton Arms”, the village pub. There is a regular bus service from Llansadwrn to Llandovery, Llandeilo and the market town of Carmarthen (the oldest town in Wales). Within the village of Llanwrda (1.5 miles away) is a village shop, post office and train station for the “Heart of Wales” service to Swansea and Shrewsbury. Carmarthenshire offers a wealth of opportunities for enjoying the natural environment. Within a short distance from Myrtle Hill House and Cottage you will find the Black Mountain in the Brecon Beacons National Park which is a paradise for walkers, ramblers and riding enthusiasts in spectacular surroundings, the National Botanic Gardens of Wales, Aberglasney “A garden lost in time”, Dinas RSPB Reserve and many historic castles. Wildlife reserves offer unique opportunities to observe bird life, including the majestic Red Kite in its traditional homeland close to the Llyn-Brianne Reservoir; its spectacular setting in the remote hills in the Tywi valley contributes to its popularity. So, whether you want an active holiday or just time to relax, Myrtle Hill will be able to meet your needs.
